Ida, Joseph, William, Ernestine, Emma
This is the only known photo of William as he and Emma died 9 days apart in August of 1896 of Diphtheria. William was 8 and Emma was 10. They were living on the Schaar farm NW of Rockford at the time, and according to my Uncle Marvin, they moved everyone to the barn (because of the diphtheria) and burned the house down. Subsequently, family, friends and neighbors helped rebuild the farmhouse.
