c1880’s, Augusta Krause Steinke

Augusta Anna Krause Steinke was born in Friedheim / Miasteczko Krajenskie (German/Polish town name) in what today is Northwestern Poland, near the town of Pila.

She arrived in Minnesota with her husband and 3 children (two more would be born in Greenfield, MN) in c1874. She and her husband Johann Christoph Steinke settled on a farm along highway 55 in Greenfield. Augusta’s oldest daughter was Ernestine Steinke who married Joesph Schaar in May of 1881. Joseph and Ernestine Schaar then settled on the Schaar farm Northwest of Rockford.
