Sharing a photo taken by William Wallof on July 4th, 1900 in Rockford that is part of the archives included in the Hennepin County Library digital collection. The photographer is standing on Bridge Street looking east. The Masonic Lodge can be seen on the left. At the time Joseph Stocker was renting the lower level for his business selling shoes and boots. The streets are filled with visitors as well as many people remaining in their buggies to watch the parade. A float is just turning the corner beginning to go south on Main Street. In the distance is the iron bridge, just to the left of it was the blacksmith shop where William Prestidge’s bellows heated iron. On the immediate right is the Johnson Bros. store/bank that we shared a photo of Tuesday. Across the street is a building that would become MD Stanley’s Barber Shop in about 1905, I do not know what was in the building at this time. A tremendous amount of detail in this photo. Thank you William Wallof for taking these photos, and thank you to the Hennepin County Library for sharing them with us
