2022 Rockford Memorial Day

May 30, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • « Rockford Area Historical Society Showcase – at the Rockford Business Expo
  • Rocktoberfest 2022 »

In 2022 the Rockford Area Historical Society has increased the number of memorial plaques to 56 placed at Elmwood cemetery this year. The purpose of these are to provide additional information to the public about those who served our country in the armed forces or played an instrumental role in the formation of the communities in our area. A special thank you to Thousand Hearts for their work in leading the efforts to do a good spring cleaning at Elmwood cemetery prior to the plaques being placed. The RAHS will have 16 new plaques placed on May 21, 2022, in additional the 40 we have already created. Take time to walk through the cemetery and learn more about those who served our country and who built the foundation of our community. In addition the Ames-Florida-Stork House will be open for tours from 11:00am – 2:00pm. There will be root beer floats also available for purchase on site from 11am-2pm.
