TEEN NIGHT: UNPLUGGED FUN AND FOOD
It began as a gardening hour to keep the fingers busy while mouths chatted. It grew into a grant funded activity providing whole food, unplugged, and non electronic fun for students ages 13-18 (or anyone else who cares to hang out!)
Every Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. during the months of June, July, and August, teenagers come home to do a variety of activities including:
Play lawn games
Throw water balloons
Make paper and books
Construct bird houses and picnic tables
Talk and make friends
"As a mother of a new thirteen year old, it was a relief and a pleasure to be able to take my daughter to the Stork House most weeks this summer to participate in a fun, peer-centered, relaxed evening of good food and activities.
The evenings provided her an opportunity to connect with like-minded, curious, and creative girls her age--all without her mother hanging over her! [The Staff] were great working with my daughter's personality and interests to create an experience my teen is likely to remember and cherish for a long time."
