Wedding certificate of Meda Dyson and Norman Clinton Stork
Kathleen Stassen, the last maid to work
at the house. Her son, Howard Schlief, still resides in the area and donated this portrait.
A large but hidden portion of collection held at the Ames-Florida-Stork House consists of letters and diaries written by the three families.

Thousands of letters, beginning in 1842 and continuing until World War II, as well as 150 years of personal diaries and travel journals reside in Rockford.

Visit us during office hours to get to know the Ames, Florida, and Stork families in their own words! This repository contains invaluable information about the lifestyle, values, and personality of those who must never be forgotten.
Don't have time to stop in and read these amazing documents? No problem! Just send us your email address and we will add you to our weekly newsletter mailing. We include one week of Clinton Stork's diary entries, plus a letter written by either him or Meda chronicling their daily struggles and triumphs.
